Live Sound: Technologies to Satisfy New Audience Expectations
Is a good night out the same as it used to be?
Competition for audiences has never been fiercer and yet the rewards are great for those who can entertain, amaze and seduce our ears successfully. Audiences whose expectations have been satisfied or exceeded will come back again and again. But audience expectations are becoming increasingly sophisticated. Audio-visual entertainment at home is providing strong competition for the live show experience. Quality, generally, is remarkably improved compared with 20 years ago. Can theatres afford to stand still? Should shows and concerts settle for ‘good enough’?
This AES UK Section Conference presents a lively programme of talks from respected engineers, designers and academics, with plenty of opportunity for both formal and informal discussion.

Theatre and venue technical management, sound designers, front-of-house sound engineers, equipment manufacturers.
London Eye and River Cruise Experience
Please indicate on the Registration Form if you would like to join a group on the London Eye (30 minutes) and a 45 minute cruise on the Thames. These events will start at 6pm on Monday 28th April. Tickets (cost approx £20 for both events) to be paid for on the day but availability cannot be guaranteed. The Eye is a short walk from Church House. The two-day Conference will be held at Church House, Dean’s Yard, Westminster, London, SW1 starting at 10.00 on Monday, 28th April, 2003.
The registration fee is £298.00 + VAT for AES members, £348.00 + VAT for non-members and £84.00 + VAT for students. This includes Conference documentation, lunch and refreshments.
Pre-registration with payment only. Complete registration form and send with remittance to the address below. Payment may be made by cheque (payable to AES Ltd) or Visa/Mastercard. International bookings by credit card only. Confirmation will be posted or emailed on receipt of registration form and payment. Closing date for bookings – Wednesday 23rd April.
